Tips and Tricks Tuesday

Here we are again, another edition of tips and tricks!  I realized today that we are in the middle of summer and quickly coming to that "Back to School" time again.  Have you gone into the stores lately?  Everything is about back to school.  Wait! Hold on!  Give me a second!  I want to enjoy more summer and not think about school yet.  Anyone else out there with me.  Then, to top it off, Costco already has Thanksgiving and Christmas items up!  What is going on???  Let me enjoy the moment; this moment of summer with my kids, no school work, and lots of time to swim and have fun.  There's my rant for the day.  Just had to say it.
* If you're new here, welcome to Lewisville!  Today is Tips and Tricks Tuesday! It's a good day to visit here.  I like finding simple solutions to everyday living and sharing some of my favorite tips with you all!  You can find most of these tips on my  Pinterest Tips and Tricks board, where I'd also love to have you follow along.  There's always facebook and twitter too.  If you want to pin these tips on your own board, just click {source} below each picture.  It will take you to the original source of the tip, and it's always best to pin from the original source.

Tip 1.  How many times has this happened to you?  A stripped screw is annoying and almost impossible to work with, but you can get it out by simply using a rubber band.

Tips 2.  A shadow box from a craft store makes the perfect shelf in your restroom.  Paint it to your liking and it creates a unique decorative feature.  Very smart.

Tips 3.  I need this all over my kitchen but especially in between my stove and counters. Crumbs and cooked food always manage to fall in that gap between the appliance and the counter.  It makes for a mess that is always needing to be cleaned.  To fill the void, use clear tubing from any home improvement store.  So easy.

Tip. 4.  Here's another decorative tip that is unique and out of the box.  Use an old belt as a curtain tie.  Perfect for a boy's room.  There's tons of other ideas for belts too on this web site.

Tip 5.  I LOVE painting tips.  For an easy way to paint/repaint trim around the house, use an large spackle knife.  No more taping off!  LOVE!

Hope you all found a tip you can use to make your next project a little easier.

Lisa
