Tips and Tricks Tuesday

Hi there, friends.  I hope you all had a chance to spend Memorial Day with your families.  We are so blessed here in the U.S. and I love seeing all the flags flying.  Thank you to all our heroes who have served and given their lives for our country.  We truly honor you.
I have been reminded recently what an incredible privilege it is to hug your kids and smother them with kisses.  This summer, if you get to stay home with your kiddos, enjoy each moment.  We get 18 summers with our kids. We get 18 summers to influence them, encourage them, correct them, and love them. I'm sure to some extent, that will always be true even into their adulthood, but parenting changes as our little ones grow up.  If only they could stay little....
* If you're new here, welcome to Lewisville!  Today is Tips and Tricks Tuesday! It's a good day to visit here.  I like finding simple solutions to everyday living and sharing some of my favorite tips with you all!  You can find most of these tips on my  Pinterest Tips and Tricks board, where I'd also love to have you follow along.  There's always facebook and twitter too.  If you want to pin these tips on your own board, just click {source} below each picture.  It will take you to the original source of the tip, and it's always best to pin from the original source.

Today's tips are all about using products and items in a different way than intended.  These are those "aha" moments I love.

Tip 1. Use a soap holder from the dollar store to hold small toys like cards, marbles, or even legos.  These can be great little organizers for those easy to loose small items.

Tip 2.  We are a card playing family.  My kids are constantly giving their hand away then they say something like this, "don't look at my cards!"  Here's a great little project for them to work on for their card shark ways.  Make a card holder out of an egg carton.

Tip 3.  A must have for summer is ICE CREAM!  My kids love having their ice cream  in cones, but they really can get messy.  If you put a small marshmallow in the bottom of your cone, though, you'll get rid of the messy drips.  Very SMART.

Tip 4. Use a cutlery tray for your jewelry.  Hang the dividers and your jewelry can always be on display and well organized.  No more messy, tangled necklaces.

Tip 5.   Hang Napkin Holders and use them  to sort files, hold books, or manage papers.  Another "different" way to use a common item.

One more week and we are done with school!  I can't wait!

 Blessings,
Lisa

  1. Another idea for helping kids hold their cards is to put them in a chip clip to hold!
